Shabbat Dinner & Program with special guest, Ruti Kadish
Friday, April 24, 6:30PM at Am Kolel's Center

Join us on for our Shabbat Dinner & Program at our Center with special guest, Ruti Kadish, an Israeli American who developed Tovanot (https://www.moedcommunity.org/tovanot) which offers a dual-narrative approach that deepens understanding of the region’s history and politics while fostering empathy for both Israelis and Palestinians. We will have a discussion about the founding narratives of 1948, Yom HaAtzmaut (Israeli Independence Day) and the Nakhba (the Catastrophe). We will pray for peace and healing in the region. Bring a vegetarian/dairy dish to share. Click here to RSVP.

Kolot Shabbat: A Montgomery County Musical Shabbat
Saturday, April 25, 5PM at Montrose Park (Rain Location - Am Kolel's Center)

Join us for our first Kolot Shabbat: A Montgomery County Musical Shabbat. This family-friendly Shabbat sing-along led by Debi Roemer, Rabbi Miriam Hoffman, Reb David, Jenna Hopp and other local musicians. We will have some small instruments for kids, but please feel free to bring any musical instruments you want and join in on the fun! Please bring snacks and fruit to share, Am Kolel will provide drinks. Am Kolel is a welcoming and diverse Jewish Renewal community located in Montgomery County, Maryland and serving the Greater Washington, D.C. metro area. Shabbat services start at 10am and are normally held in Rockville, MD and online.

Founded in 1990 by Rabbi David Shneyer in response to requests for a more personal and responsive Judaism, Am Kolel is devoted to the revitalization of the Jewish heritage and the Jewish community, seeking to discover and rediscover a Judaism that is spiritually and socially meaningful.
